The Commemorative Tartan: ‘Westenra of Christchurch NZ’
The ‘Westenra of Christchurch NZ’ tartan was designed and registered with The Scottish Tartans Authority (www.tartansauthority.com) as a tribute to Hayley Westenra’s outstanding singing gift and beautiful personality. The commemorative tartan seemed appropriate, since Hayley greatly appreciates Scottish heritage. After explaining the inspiration for the design of the tartan, both House of Tartan (www.houseoftartan.com) of Perthshire, Scotland and The Scottish Tartans Authority were extremely helpful and accommodating in fulfilling the requirements for arranging for the tartan to be woven and officially registered. Indeed it was an honour as the tartan designer for me to present Hayley with a tartan sash personally, after her first concert in Scotland .
